Hich Lounge

We discovered this gem of a cafe/bar/restaurant on our first evening arriving late to Flic en flac and staying just down the road. Amazing food, we had breakfast most days and evening meals when we were around. Also had Christmas Eve party which was great fun. Also a lovely place to just pop for a cold beer or a coffee. Owners and staff lovely and so welcoming. Off the main area of Flic en flac but well worth the walk up the hill. We will miss it lots.

A true gem in Flic en Flac! In December 2025 we spent our holiday in Mauritius and having rented an apartment a bit outside, we were looking for a place to dine in the proximity. This is how we found Hich Lounge without high hopes on what we will get. However, the first evening we were surprised that there are so many people in a place which is at a distance to the beach and the sea. It is absolutely worth going a bit outside the town to experience an exceptional quality of food. Everything is done with not only the taste but especially heart put into it. The starters, main courses and desserts are of top notch quality. The Persian cuisine is something unique to have and was our discovery during this trip. We loved everything so much – the food, the friendly staff, the atmosphere - that we ended up eating there several times. Big complements to the owner/chef for what he created there!

Wow! I was living so close by for three months and can’t believe I only just tried it. The Persian food was amazing!!!! Definitely order the lamb ribs and beef/lamb mince kebab!!! Their dessert is also amazing. I will definitely be back! It is also extremely child friendly. My 1 year old had a corner to play filled with toys. This place is designed to be family friendly, work space friendly, and a great chill spot.

We spent a beautiful Friday evening with my husband at this place. Located right at the entrance to the flic en flac area. They provided a very enjoyable evening with their warm atmosphere, authentic decoration, lounge reggie music, fast service, wonderful Iranian food, dessert accompanied with Iranian tea and shisha. The owners were also very friendly and attentive. In addition to these, I was very pleased that they did not feel disturbed by the presence of stray animals around the place. We will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Delicious Food and Great Experience I had the chance to enjoy both breakfast and lunch at Hich Lounge, and both were excellent. Breakfast was a full English, perfectly cooked and very satisfying. For lunch, I tried the seafood octopus pizza, which was equally impressive — fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. At dinner, I had the lamb kebab, which was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. To finish, the strawberry mousse was a light and delicious dessert, the perfect end to the meal. The quality of the food really stood out across the board, and I would highly recommend Hich Lounge to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

I’m Persian and can easily tell when food is authentic and well made, and the food at Hich Lounge is truly excellent. The flavors were rich and traditional, just like homemade Persian cooking. They don’t just have Persian food either , they also offer a variety of other dishes, including pizza, which looked great. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and we had a really nice time. We sat inside, and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. They also have outdoor seating if you prefer that. The place is located in a great area near an amazing beach. After our meal, we ordered hot herbal tea, and it was amazing such a nice touch and the perfect way to end the evening. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious, authentic food and a warm, relaxed vibe.

Great and upbeat atmosphere. The food tasted absolutely amazing. Definitely the best burger I have had in Mauritius so far. Their pancakes are out of this word as well as their eggplant starter. Inside play area for small kids.

It’s more than just cuisine — it’s a masterpiece. When we were there for the first time, we wondered why customers chose a slightly out-of-the-way restaurant instead of going to the city center. The answers to these questions quickly became clear — every dish we ordered was truly a new flavor experience. Even the long-cooked chicken was served in a sauce whose ingredients we couldn’t identify. For dessert, a cookie — a class of its own. It’s clear that the chef prepares everything with heart and passion. We also had the opportunity to speak with the restaurant owner: an incredibly warm, smiling person for whom guests’ satisfaction is the highest priority. We will definitely return to experience new flavors.
